Laura Miller uses an inexpensive Holga camera with a plastic lens to create her ethereal landscapes. The technique found its perfect subject matter in the stark and alien terrain of Iceland; Miller's photographs have been described as snapshots taken through the porthole of a spaceship assessing the safety of an unfamiliar planet. But the comment extends to her work as a whole, to her portraits and street scenes; the general impression is one of strange and striking unity: technique, subject, color, texture...vision.
